ASIST

2 days

100/person

in-person

ASIST features powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive.

LivingWorks ASIST trainees make their communities safer from suicide by providing life-saving interventions. They’re a vital resource that trainees in connector programs—such as LivingWorks safeTALK—can call to help others.

safeTALK

4 hrs

30/person

in-person

safeTALK prepares anyone 15 or older to become a suicide-alert helper. Over the course of their training, safeTALK participants will learn to:

  • Notice and respond to situations where suicidal thoughts might be present

  • Recognize that invitations for help are often overlooked

  • Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid suicide

  • Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe

  • Know community resources and how to connect someone with thoughts of suicide to them for further help

QPR

2 hrs

10/person

in-person or virtual

Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. You'll learn:

  • How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal

  • How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide

  • The common causes of suicidal behavior

  • The warning signs of suicide

  • How to get help for someone in crisis

During the month of September, Gryphon Place offers free trainings to community members. If you are interested in sponsoring a suicide prevention training, in order to allow community members to attend a training free-of-charge, please contact Erica.
