volunteer with us
We would not be able to help those in conflict and crisis in our community without the wonderful and committed volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to Gryphon Place and the Kalamazoo community.
Volunteer for Gryphon Place programs that have a direct impact on crisis in the community. Some of our volunteer opportunities include:
Answer crisis line or 2-1-1 calls
Assist people in accessing free tax preparation services
Provide crisis response with the CISM team
Educate students through the Gatekeeper Program
Help supervise or lead youth conflict mediations
Serve the community in times of disaster
All of our program volunteers must go through the required training, fill out the volunteer application, and go through a background check.
Gryphon Place occasionally holds events which require volunteers, such as:
Suicide Prevention Walk
Eat, Drink, Give gala
MLK Day of Service
These event opportunities will be communicated by email through the Volunteer Center and may be found on your volunteer landing page on the site.
These volunteer opportunities do not require an application or training, but do require a background check.
If you are a great candidate for one of our programs, we will contact you for a volunteer interview. After a successful interview, we will schedule a volunteer orientation and contact you when the next available training is scheduled.
