MLK Day of Service

Martin Luther King Jr. day, third Monday in January, is observed as “a day on, not a day off.” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

Each year Gryphon Place, along with the City of Kalamazoo and United Way of the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo Region, organizes a community wide day of service. We encourage individuals to use their day off from work to volunteer at local organizations.
