About the event
Join the YMCA and Gryphon Place at the Gryphon Place Training and Admin Center for a two-day ASIST suicide prevention workshop on February 5-6, 2026. The training is from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm each day (with a one-hour lunch break each day, and lunch provided). This workshop is provided by the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo and facilitated by experienced Livingworks Suicide Prevention Trainers.
ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. At this LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you’ll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Our knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety.
LivingWorks ASIST trainees make their communities safer from suicide by providing life-saving interventions. They’re a vital resource that trainees in connector programs—such as LivingWorks safeTALK—can call to help others.
